Yenter promoted to detective at Portage County Sheriff’s Office

STEVENS POINT — Marielle Yenter of the Portage County Sheriff’s Office has been promoted to detective.

Yenter was promoted on Aug. 6 during a ceremony attended by several department members as well as her family.

Sheriff Mike Lukas expressed his excitement for Yenter’s promotion, highlighting her decade-long service with the department, including two years working in schools. “Arielle has done an outstanding job,” Lukas said. “She went through the promotional process and came out on top. I’m confident she will excel in her new role within the detective bureau.”

Lukas also acknowledged the importance of family support in law enforcement. “Without great family support, it’s very hard for anyone in law enforcement to succeed. Thank you for supporting Arielle at home,” he said, before inviting Yenter’s family to present her with the detective’s badge.

Yenter’s promotion reflects her commitment to the department and her demonstrated potential for increased responsibilities, Lukas said.
