The film, Rohna Classified, will be screened at the Lincoln Center, 1519 Water St., on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 1 p.m.
The film recounts the tragic sinking of a U.S. transport ship during WWII, which was equipped with non-functioning lifeboats and inadequate lifebelts.
The ship was sunk by one of the first radio-guided missiles ever used in war, leading to the deaths of 1,015 U.S. soldiers. The attack marks the greatest loss of life at sea in U.S. wartime history.
The event is hosted by Sandra and Mark Bystrom, who supported the making of the film. Sandra is the daughter of Leonard Osowski, a Stevens Point resident and survivor of the attack, who passed away in 1999.
The screening is free and open to the public. For more information, call 715-346-1401.
