Worzalla recognizes graduating interns, apprentices

Stevens Point-based publisher Worzalla is recognizing four of its interns and apprentices who recently graduated from local schools but, due to the coronavirus, weren’t able to participate in a graduation ceremony.

The employee-owned print company, which specializes in custom products including popular children’s books and movie tie-in books, is awarding the high school and college graduates with a copy of Dr. Seuss’ Oh, the Places You’ll Go, printed by Worzalla, as well as a small monetary gift.

“Despite the uncertainties surrounding coronavirus, we wanted our interns and apprentices to be proud of the professional and academic accomplishments that they’ve achieved,” said Brianne Petruzalek, vice president of Human Resources at Worzalla. “Oh, the Places You’ll Go may be a children’s book, but we hope that Dr. Seuss’ timeless message will inspire these young adults to go for their dreams in the next chapters of their lives.”

Worzalla offers its congratulations to its graduating interns and associates:

• Grace Williams, a youth apprentice at Worzalla, graduated from Stevens Point Area Senior High School. At Worzalla, Grace worked in the pre-press area where she assisted with getting work out to the presses for print.  Grace plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point to obtain a degree in the arts program.
• Dillon Tutton, a youth apprentice at Worzalla, graduated from Pacelli High School. At Worzalla, Dillon worked in the press department where he learned all about printing and the printing process. Dillon will be attending Fox Valley Technical College where he will study landscaping and horticulture.
• Jennifer Schrank, a human resources intern at Worzalla, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a degree in accounting and business administration. At Worzalla, Jennifer assisted the human resources department with administrative and communications tasks that engaged Worzalla’s nearly 400-person workforce.  Jennifer’s plans to stay in Central Wisconsin and her employment search is well underway.
• Mason Roseno, a maintenance apprentice at Worzalla, graduated from Mid-State Technical College with an associate degree in Industrial Automation & Control Engineering Technology. At Worzalla, Mason assisted the Maintenance Department with troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery.  With the completion of his degree, Mason has accepted a full-time position with Worzalla as an electro-mechanical technician.

Worzalla’s paid internship and apprenticeship programs give select groups of students and recent graduates a comprehensive look at the modern book manufacturing process.
