Mayor Mike Wiza on Tuesday announced the city is proposing a new city compost program.
The program is being created in cooperation with a group of UWSP Waste Management students, but Wiza said the city has several options open to it and is seeking public feedback.
“If 50 people say they’re interested, we’ll do it one way; if 500 people are interested, we’ll have to do it a different way,” Wiza said on Tuesday. “We don’t know what the program would even look like or where the compost would be located—we’re just trying to gauge interest right now.”
Any city resident interested in asked to send their full name, complete address and phone number to [email protected].
