Wines of the World event returns in October

By Patrick Lynn

The 18th annual Wines of the World event returns to Stevens Point on Oct. 25.

Sponsored by the Portage County Business Council and VIP Sponsor TDS Telecom, the night promises to be an “international journey” featuring over 100 wines from around the world, including those available at The Bottle Stop, 35 Park Ridge Dr., and Sunset Point Winery, 1201 Water St.

Food, a cheese array, and desserts will be provided by the Holiday Inn Hotel & Convention Center, Rockman’s Catering, and Ski’s Meat Market. Point Brewery will host a beer bar, and handcrafted cocktails from Great Northern Distilling and Schierl Brothers Northern Oasis Spirits will also be available.

A silent auction will also be held.

This event sets the stage for guests to network, socialize, and have fun learning about wine. Guests also have a chance to win door prizes, and one winner will also go home with a piece of Thomas Dailing-designed jewelry donated by Lee Ayers Jewelers.

Registration is $57 per person for PCBC members, $65 in advance for prospective members, and $70 at the door.

The event will be held 6-9 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Convention Center, 1001 Amber Ave. For more information contact Karen Myers at (715) 344-1940 or [email protected], or click here to register.
