PARK RIDGE — The Village of Park Ridge will hold its 2024 caucus on Saturday, Jan. 6, at 6 p.m. in the All-Purpose Lodge at Iverson Park, near the skating rink at the top of the hill.
The caucus will determine candidates for the April 1, 2025, spring election. Voters will select nominees for two trustee positions, currently held by Kristin Paulson and Gordon Renfert, and the village president position, currently held by Steve Menzel. All three positions carry two-year terms ending in April 2025.
Residents are encouraged to attend and participate in the candidate selection process.
Park Ridge, incorporated in 1938, is a primarily residential village surrounded by the city of Stevens Point. The 143-acre community is home to an estimated 572 residents as of 2024 and features a commercial district with more than 50 businesses.
The village operates under a five-member Board of Trustees, each serving two-year terms. The board meets monthly to address village affairs, with meeting agendas and minutes available to the public.
Park Ridge traces its origins to 1938 when residents petitioned to incorporate 133.4 acres from the Town of Hull. The incorporation was approved by a Circuit Court and finalized following a favorable vote by the electors.
