UWSP to celebrate 125 years of ‘Homecoming History’

Metro Wire Staff

Do you own a piece of history from UW-Stevens Point?

From a Stevens Point State University letter jacket to an older version of a stuffed Stevie Pointer, those with memorable objects are invited to be a part of the “History Homecoming” event on Friday, August 9.

Items or photos, along with the memories that accompany them, can be shared with members of UW-Stevens Point’s Historic Preservation Subcommittee and archive representatives from 1-4 p.m. at University Archives in Room 520 Albertson Hall, 900 Reserve St.

Items may be chosen for a temporary loan as part of a special 125th-anniversary exhibit in the Noel Fine Arts Center’s Edna Carlsten Gallery and may become part of UW-Stevens Point’s Homecoming celebration this fall. Items will be returned after the exhibit.

For more information, contact Assistant Professor Cary Elza at (715) 346-2189 or find the event on Facebook by searching “UWSP History Homecoming.”
