Residents who live near the UW-Stevens Point Sundial will get a special musical treat on Saturday.
Community members are welcome to bring their lawn chairs to hear a free, outdoor concert at the Specht Forum/Sundial beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 8. Seven ensembles from the Department of Music will be performing.
Face coverings are required on the UWSP campus. Parking is available in Lot R across the street.
The program will include instrumental and vocal music by the Jazz Band, Wind Symphony, Choral Union, Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Symphonic Wind Band, and Concert Choir.
Among the instrumental works are “Parking Lot Blues,” “Bap!,” “All the Things You Are,” “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore,” “The Empire Strikes Back Medley” and “Rey’s Theme” from the movie “Star Wars,” and “Symphony No. 1 in C Major, op. 21.” Among the choral music works are “You Do Not Walk Alone,” “Let My Love Be Heard” and “Turtle Dove.”
