Urszula Anna Ramcheck, 84
Urszula Anna Ramcheck, 84, of Allouez, died Sept. 16, 2024, at Bellin Memorial Hospital in Green Bay.
She was born Oct. 19, 1939, in Radom, Poland, the daughter of the late William and Anna (née Glowocka) Welke. Urszula was one of five children, growing up on the family farm in Poland during World War II. Despite the challenges of her early years, she became a strong, caring, and compassionate woman.
At age 25, Urszula crossed the Atlantic to visit her aunt, Valentina “Val” Aron, in the Town of Linwood, Wisconsin. During her visit, she met Raymond “Ray” Ramcheck of the Town of Carson. After a whirlwind romance, Ray proposed just days before her scheduled return to Poland, and the couple wed on Sept. 11, 1965, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Mill Creek.
They farmed together on the Ramcheck homestead until the mid-1980s and later moved to the Village of Whiting in 1994, before relocating to the Green Bay area in 2019. Urszula and Ray were married for 55 years until his death in 2020.
Urszula was devoted to her role as a wife, mother, and homemaker. Her faith was central to her life, and she found joy in attending mass and church picnics. She and Ray loved attending Polka festivals, and she was known for her Sunday morning Polka music, which filled her home and woke her sons and grandchildren. Urszula also had a passion for gardening, and her flower gardens brought joy to many. Above all, her family was her greatest joy.
She is survived by her two sons, Joseph (Tracy) Ramcheck of Stevens Point and Paul (Tricia) Ramcheck of Neenah; her five grandchildren, Brandon, Nicholas (Haley), Austin (Lindsay), Haley, and Justin; and one great-grandchild, Ridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ray, and one sister and three brothers in Poland.
A private family service will be held. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Bellin Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care.
