United Way, partners, launch mental health website

The United Way of Portage County, along with many community partners, have joined to create a supportive website for the mental wellness of our community.
The site, www.peaceofmindportagecounty.com, was created as a place where residents can find services and support for their mental wellness in Portage County. Project partners include Aspirus, Ascension, Marshfield Clinic, Portage County Health and Human Services, Delta Dental of Wisconsin, Portage County Sheriff’s department, and CAP Services Mental Health Navigation.
“We are proud of the collective work we have done to bring the Peace of Mind Portage County website to our residents,” said Lisa Falduto, Community Initiatives Project Manager at United Way of Portage County. “This is a place residents can go to complete online screenings, access a full library of information, get connected to a mental health navigator to help overcome barriers to receiving support and services along with assisting users in finding best fit services and supports.”
The website also contains a list of local, state, and national warmlines and hotlines, along with a host of other resources, she said.
Aspirus is “thrilled” for the launch, according to its vice president, and Peace of Mind Executive Team member.
“The site’s mission, content, and resources focus on mental wellness, a critical component of one’s overall wellbeing, both physical and mental health,” Smith said000. “At Aspirus we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality care and partnering with others in our communities to ensure that this care reaches everyone that needs and desires it.”
The website has been designed to help patients and communities navigate any mental wellness issues they may need support with. It connects them with resources that help improve their own mental wellness as well as the mental wellness of a family member or friend.
Josh Trzebiatowski, director of physician practice operations at Ascension, said working collaboratively with over health systems was the key to the overall health of the community.
“Supporting the mental and physical health of residents in Portage County is a team effort and trying to tackle issues alone can provide limited impact,” he said. “The Peace of Mind Portage County website will be a great centralized and complete resource for the community, which Ascension Wisconsin is grateful to contribute to.”
