Stevens Point police say two people were arrested following a Tuesday morning stabbing on the city’s north side.
Stevens Point Assistant Police Chief Tom Zenner said 19-year-old Emeryck Zakrzewski and Alyona Walters, 20, both of Stevens Point, were taken under arrest last night after being treated a St. Michael’s Hospital.
Police were called to a home on the 700 block of Portage St. at 11:52 a.m. on April 30 after a caller reported to police that Zakrzewski had been stabbed in the wrist during a disturbance that began when the home’s electrical service had been shut off.
“It was significant but not life-threatening,” said Assistant Police Chief Tom Zenner.
Walters left the home before police arrived. She was found a short time later on Bel Aire Ave. in Plover, Zenner said, and was treated for contusions to her head as a result of the disturbance.
Zenner said both were taken to the Portage Co. Jail Tuesday night, and the department has requested charges of disorderly conduct with a domestic abuse enhancement.
No mugshot was available for Zakrzewski, and it was not immediately known when either would return to court in this case.
