Traffic patterns change again during Hwy. B reconstruction in Plover

By Brandi Makuski

Traffic patterns will change as part of the County Hwy. B Road Improvement Project in the village of Plover starting Tuesday, June 18.

Construction will be completed in the westbound travel lanes between Hoover Ave. and I-39 by Tuesday afternoon, allowing one lane of westbound traffic in this area. The change will result in one lane of traffic in each direction throughout the project’s entire length from Wisconsin Ave. to I-39, according to Highway Commissioner Nathan Check.

Work will also begin on the section between Wisconsin Ave. and Hoover Ave. During this phase, eastbound and westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction, with traffic shifting from the outside lanes to the inside lanes.

Throughout the project, access will be limited to right turn-ins and right turn-outs at all entrances and side roads, except Hoover Ave., which will allow for left-hand turning movements in all directions.

The Portage County Highway Department will post weekly updates on its website and will issue additional news releases for any major traffic control and staging changes.
