It was a special dental hygiene night for kids at the Boys and Girls Club on Feb. 22, when club leaders celebrated tooth-brushing habits with their young members.
The night marked National Children’s Dental Health Month, and the success of the first year of the Delta Dental Smile Club during the Boys and Girls Club Family Night. The tooth fairy also came for a surprise visit and delivered tooth-friendly snacks and prizes.
Club members and their families participated in activities that highlighted the proper dental hygiene for children including flossing, tooth-brushing, a pretend dentist station, dental bingo, and dental trivia.
Delta Dental of Wisconsin is a big player in the club, sponsoring the first dental clinic inside a BGC facility in 2015, offering some free services to kids in the club by local, licensed, volunteer dentists.
Club memberships are available to any child in Portage County for $10 a year.
