They do more than fight fires…

Metro Wire Staff

Plover firefighters were called to assist a young girl who was stuck in a swing at Lower Whiting Park on Sunday.

Rescuers were dispatched for the non-emergency call at about 12:15 p.m.

Upon arrival, they found the girl unable to remove her legs from the openings of a rubber bucket swing, typically designed for use by toddlers.

Crews from Plover Fire Station No. 2 used department tools to cut the swing seat, and the girl was freed, uninjured, within a few minutes. The swing was then removed from the play set.
