The Wisconsin Water Alliance has presented Senator Pat Testin (R-Stevens Point) with the Outstanding Water Legislator of the Year Award for leading efforts to address the pressing water issues facing the state.

The award recognizes a commitment to advancing sound water policy that protects the environment while allowing the resource to power our state’s economic engine.

Wisconsin Water Alliance President Mike Huebsch said Testin has a “demonstrated commitment to protecting our state’s water resources.”

“From recreation to industry, water is central to Wisconsin’s success and requires reasonable action that addresses the diverse water-related issues facing our state,” Huebsch said in an email statement. “Wisconsin Water Alliance will continue to be both environmentally practical and business-minded as it works to advance water policy that moves our state forward.”

“Clean water is a critical issue, both in central Wisconsin and across the state,” Testin said. “That’s why I’m focused on bringing people together to protect and enhance this precious resource. By working together, we will continue leading the way with commonsense solutions that preserve our state’s fresh water supply.”
