Tapped Infused Maple Syrup nominated for ‘Coolest Thing’ contest

By Patrick Lynn

Rep. Katrina Shankland has nominated a local business as the “Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin.”

Tapped Infused Maple Syrup, owned by Jeremy and Abi Solin, is up for consideration for the annual contest, sponsored by the Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce.

The Solin Family has been making maple syrup in small batches for five generations, and currently makes and sells craft infused, barrel-aged, and pure maple syrup from sustainably managed forests in northern Wisconsin. They work with over 60 retailers across Wisconsin and Minnesota, including located in Stevens Point and Plover.

The company infuses maple syrups with elements like cardamom, cinnamon, espresso, ginger, ginseng, hibiscus, hops, red pepper, and turmeric.

“Not only do the Solins make tremendous products, but they do so while prioritizing family, community, and respect for and connection to the land,” Shankland said. “I’m so proud of their growth and impact on many communities across Wisconsin.”

The first round of voting for the contest will be open Sept. 9-15 at www.madeinwis.com. Visitors can vote once a day.
