Summer cookout courses offered through MSTC

For the Metro Wire

A series of summer cookout classes will be offered through Mid-State Technical College’s continuing education.

The classes will meet on Tuesdays, June 19 through August 28, from 6 to 9 p.m. Locations will include the Opportunity Development Centers (ODC), Inc. Wisconsin Rapids kitchen; Mid-State’s Wisconsin Rapids campus; and a location to be determined in the Stevens Point area.

The course fee is $32 per class.

This series will teach correct cooking techniques, knife skills, and cooking preparations, and allow participants to explore American and international cuisine. Classes vary each week but will include both chef demonstrations and hands-on practical skills for students.

Participants also receive recipes to recreate the meals at home. The first class, Summer Fiesta, will take place in ODC’s kitchen. Other classes include Midwest Fry, Brunch on the Patio, Farm Fresh Vegetarian, Seafood Night and more.

For more information on the classes, registration, and locations as it becomes available visit www.mstc.edu/continuinged. You can also register in person at any Mid-State campus.
