Submissions being sought for Stevens Point Sculpture Park

Metro Wire Staff

The Stevens Point Sculpture Park committee is now accepting submissions of sculpture work for their annual, three-year outdoor sculpture exhibition for display from August 2021 through August 2024.

Artists should submit their application, which includes photographs of their work, by email no later than May 21.

Materials and scale must be appropriate for an outdoor environmental location. Sculpture submissions must be self-supporting; foundations or bases are not provided.

Selected submissions will receive $1500 for a three-year loan of their work. Click here to apply.

The committee is also accepting submissions of sculpture work for a site-specific outdoor sculpture to reshape an ash tree that measures 36” in diameter and is over 30 feet high. Instead of felling the tree, which was killed by emerald ash borer disease, the committee hopes the site can be saved with some type of art display.

Artists will need to provide a certificate of insurance before being allowed to operate a chainsaw or equipment within the park. Proposals are due by March 31 and the application can be found here.

Entries for submission are free and emerging artists are welcome.
