The Portage County Public Library is offering four StoryWalk events at three of its branches through July.

The activity combines exercise and reading to further enhance health and literacy in children and adults, according to the Portage Co. Library system.

A StoryWalk takes families along an outdoor path lined with display stands, each featuring one page of a children’s book every several feet. The activity is done at a family’s own time and pace.

“StoryWalk is a wonderful way for adults and their young children or grandchildren to combine literacy skills and healthy exercise as they walk to each of the reading stations while enjoying the beauty of the outdoors,” reads a press release from the library.

StoryWalks are scheduled daily at 1 p.m. through July 25 at the Plover library, 2151 Roosevelt Dr. The library can be reached at 715-341-4007.

The Almond library is located at 122 Main St. in Almond. StoryWalks there are daily at 11 a.m. through June 25.

In Rosholt, StoryWalks are scheduled at 11 a.m. every Wednesday through June 25. The library is located at 122 Main St. in Rosholt.
