Stevens Point volunteers join Prevail Bank’s Juneteenth service effort

STEVENS POINT — More than 100 Prevail Bank employees spent Juneteenth volunteering across Wisconsin instead of taking the federal holiday off, including helping with United Way of Portage County’s diaper drive in Stevens Point.

The bank said 110 employees volunteered at 18 organizations during its fourth annual Juneteenth Day of Service on June 19, contributing time and labor to nonprofits and community organizations throughout the state.

In Stevens Point, volunteers assisted with United Way of Portage County’s diaper drive by counting and repackaging diapers for local families in need. A photo released by the bank shows employees Mallory Wroblewski and Vinny Ritchay participating in the effort.

The volunteer initiative included work with organizations such as the Taylor County Humane Society, Marathon County Parks Department, FOCUS, Opportunity Development Center, Children’s Imaginarium and several assisted living facilities.

According to Prevail Bank, employees have contributed about 589.5 volunteer hours through Juneteenth activities and volunteer efforts completed between January and April, the equivalent of more than 73 full workdays of community service.

Prevail Bank said the annual day of service reflects its commitment to supporting economic development, financial stability and community organizations in the areas it serves.
