Stevens Point sex offender released Tuesday

A sex offender will be released from prison next week, and plans are to place him in a halfway house on the 1500 block of Water St.

Mark M. McPhan, 25, was convicted of third-degree sexual assault in 2019. In 2018, McPhan admitted to raping an intoxicated woman.

McPhan is a black man, 5’11” and 145 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Upon release from prison on April 27, McPhan will be living at 1504 Water St. He will be placed on supervision with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and monitored by sex offender agent specialists with the Division of Community Corrections. He is also subject to discretionary GPS monitoring.

McPhan is also prohibited from having any unsupervised contact with minors and is not permitted to consume drugs.

McPhan will be required to comply with standard sex offender rules and to cooperate with electronic monitoring, including complying with all requirements and registrant of the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry.

McPhan’s current address and any change of address will be updated and available online by accessing the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry at www.widocoffenders.org. He is not wanted by police at this time.
