Stevens Point sets fall leaf and grass pickup for Nov. 4
Metro Wire Staff
STEVENS POINT – The city’s annual fall leaf and grass collection is scheduled to begin the week of Nov. 4, with residents required to have bagged leaves and grass curbside by 7 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 4.
Crews will make one pass through each area, but pick-up may take place later in the week. To avoid missing collection, residents are encouraged to have their bags ready by the deadline.
Only leaves and grass clippings should be included in the bags, as branches and brush will not be collected. Residents may take branches and brush to the city’s recycling and yard waste drop-off site at 100 Sixth Ave., which is open to Stevens Point residents only. The site’s hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Proof of city residency, such as a driver’s license or mail, is required for access.
“We have to pull crews off their regular duties for leaf and grass pickup, so we ask residents to be patient as other projects may be delayed,” the city said in its news release.
The drop-off site is available for residential, non-commercial use only.
