Stevens Point Noon Optimist Club announces scholarship winners

Three local students have been awarded scholarships from the Stevens Point Noon Optimist Club.

Recipients are Johnathon Ballinger, son of Michael and Cindy Ballinger from Amherst Junction. Ballinger will be attending UW-Stout.

Alyssa Kirsling, daughter of Jon and Tammy Kirsling of Amherst, plans to attend UW-Stevens Point.

Jenna Stolt, daughter of Marc and Heidi Stolt from Plover, has plans to attend UW-Madison.

Each received a $1,000 scholarship.

The scholarships, administered by the Stevens Point Noon Optimist Club have been awarded since 2000 to graduating high school seniors across Portage County. 

The Stevens Point Noon Optimist Club was chartered on May 17, 1961, and has been in continuous service to our local community and youth since that time. The club’s mission statement is: “By providing hope and positive vision, Optimists bring out the best in youth, our communities, and ourselves.”
