Stevens Point man arrested for fourth OWI offense after I-39 traffic stop

PORTAGE COUNTY — A Stevens Point man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of operating while intoxicated, fourth offense, following a traffic stop on Interstate 39 north of Stevens Point.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, a trooper stopped a 2019 Nissan Rogue at about 3:42 p.m. on May 19 on southbound I-39 north of U.S. Highway 10 west for alleged seat belt and equipment violations.
The driver, identified as 37-year-old Kasey D. Richardson of Stevens Point, showed multiple signs of impairment during the stop, the State Patrol said.
Troopers conducted a field sobriety investigation and later arrested Richardson on suspicion of OWI, fourth offense.
The arrest was handled by the Wisconsin State Patrol’s Wausau Post.
