Stabbing victim ID’d as aggressor, charges pending

Stevens Point police say a 33-year-old woman was “fearing for her life” when she stabbed an intruder Thursday morning.
Assistant Police Chief Tom Zenner said Jesse Lee Jaggar, 39 of Stevens Point, forced his way into an apartment on the 900 block of Second St. at about 4 a.m. on Sept. 13, looking for an individual who wasn’t in the home.
Jaggar physically assaulted the woman who was home, Zenner said, and despite her injuries, she “armed herself with a knife” to prevent Jaggar from further attacking her.
When officers arrived they found Jaggar laying in a pool of his own blood on the sidewalk near Second and Portage streets, yelling for help.
The woman, who was not identified, was treated for her injuries and release from a local hospital. She is not expected to face charges, Zenner said.
Anticipated charges against Jaggar include attempted homicide, burglary, criminal damage to property, and battery. A court date for Jaggar was not immediately scheduled.
