Metro Wire Staff
Several free programs are planned at branches of the Portage Co. Library throughout March.
A “Think Green” program will be offered for children of all ages in early March. It’s a day of “celebration of all things green” during the last grey days of winter, including St. Patrick’s Day, the environment, and frogs.
The program will be held at the Rosholt Library on Wednesday, March 4 at 10:30 a.m., the Almond Library on Thursday, March 5 at 10:30 a.m., and the Plover Library on Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7 at 10:30 a.m.
Watercolor painting classes will be held at the Plover branch on Thursday, March 10 at 5 p.m., and again on Wednesday, March 11 at 2 p.m.; at the Rosholt branch on Thursday, March 12 at 2:30 p.m.; and at the Almond branch on Wednesday, March 18 at 10:30 a.m.
No previous watercolor experience is necessary for the class, and a limited number of materials will be available onsite. Registration is required and opens 14 days before each class. Contact the Plover Library at 715-341-4007; the Rosholt Library at 715-677-4512; or the Almond Library at 715-366-2151 to reserve your spot.
A Lego Brick Builders event will be held for students in 4K through grade 5, with their adult guest. The Rosholt Library will host the program on Thursday, March 5 at 4 p.m. and the Plover Library on Thursday, March 19 at 5:30 p.m. The March theme is “video game racing.” No registration is required.
The Plover branch is located at 2151 Roosevelt Dr. in Plover. Rosholt’s library is located at 137 N. Main St. in Rosholt, and Almond has a branch library at 122 Main St. in Almond.
