Stevens Point police say one teenager has been taken to the hospital with serious injuries following a Friday morning crash.
Emergency crews were called to Hwy. 66 and West Gates Dr. at 5:32 a.m. on Oct. 8 when a caller reported a single-vehicle collision.
The motorist, an 18-year-old man, was eastbound on Hwy. 66 when he left the roadway and struck a tree. He was taken by ambulance to a trauma center in Marshfield.
According to a news release from SPPD, the man sustained serious injuries but his current condition was not immediately known.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation but speed and alcohol are not suspected as factors.
The Stevens Point Fire Department was also at the scene.
