Spirit helicopter summoned for one injured in motorcycle-v-tree accident

One person has been transported to a trauma center by helicopter for injuries sustained in a single motorcycle crash on Sunday afternoon.

Multiple emergency crews responded to the I-39/County Hwy. HH northbound ramp at about 5:20 p.m. on Sept. 16, where a motorcyclist struck a tree.

The victim was transported by ambulance to the Stevens Point Municipal Airport, where a Spirit helicopter crew was waiting.

The victim’s age, gender, and condition were not immediately known.

Stevens Point and Plover police, Portage Co. deputies, Wisconsin State troopers, and ambulance crews from Stevens Point and Plover all responded to the scene.
