SPFD still working as normal, closes both stations to public

Metro Wire Staff

To help avoid the spread of the COVID-19 virus while maintaining essential services, the Stevens Point Fire Dept. is limiting public access to both of its stations until further notice.

SPFD is still responding to all calls for service as normal, according to Chief Robert Finn, but access to the firehouses is limited to only essential city personnel. The department has also suspended all public education events, fire inspections, and public blood pressure screenings.

Non-emergent issues, such as obtaining a burning permit, are available by appointment only. Please call ahead at 715-344-1833 to make an appointment or with further questions.
