SPASH’s Dylan Trigg throws a no-hitter over Wausau East

SPASH’s senior right-handed pitcher Dylan Trigg threw a no-hitter over Wausau East on the road Thursday rolling to a 7-0 win.
Trigg went seven innings with nine strikeouts, two walks, and no hits.
SPASH scored in the first inning with Mason King hitting a sacrifice fly allowing Brady Franz to score. The Panthers had a big fourth inning with Justin Morton and Brett Ehr both bringing in RBIs on a sacrifice fly, Vinnie Fonti hit a timely single and Austin Beyer added a double to bring the Panthers to a 5-0 lead.
Stevens Point took advantage of an East pickoff error in the 5th for a run and Connor Mrozek brought in Dayne Hoyord on a sacrifice fly in the 7th.
The Panther offense had 10 hits; Brady Franz and Austin Beyer both with two.
Andrew Heinzen was the losing pitcher for Wausau East.
This win brings the Panthers to 4-1 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference and 6-3 overall. They are set to host Wisconsin Rapids this Friday at 4:30 p.m.
