By Patrick Lynn

STEVENS POINT — Stevens Point Area Senior High will recognize its girls soccer alumni during a special halftime ceremony on May 26, celebrating 35 years of the program.

The recognition will take place during halftime of the varsity girls soccer game against Wisconsin Rapids at Goerke Field. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

The ceremony will highlight the accomplishments of the Lady Panthers over the past three decades, including 12 conference championships and three state tournament appearances.

“These ladies have represented SPASH with incredible class, teamwork, and a standard of excellence as a premier program in the Wisconsin Valley Conference and beyond,” said Bill Loss, SPASH boys and girls soccer coach. “We are honored to recognize their accomplishments in front of the community, family, and friends who have supported them throughout the years.”

School officials said the event is intended to celebrate the dedication and effort of former players while bringing together alumni, current athletes and the community.

Community members, alumni, faculty, students and soccer families are encouraged to attend. Admission to the game is $5.

Alumni planning to attend are asked to contact Bonnie Bronk in the SPASH athletic office at [email protected] to be added to the pass list.
