SPASH softball downs Merrill 10-3

After losing to Merrill on 4/9, the Panther softball team followed through with a commanding 10-3 win over the Blue Jays in WVC action on Tuesday.

Stevens Point out hit Merrill 14-7 with junior Sam Saloun having a strong performance going 4-for-4 from the plate and hitting a home run in the first inning of play bringing in two RBIs. Leah Earnest and Jenna Hoerter also hit home runs against Merrill. Earnest led the Panthers in RBIs for the game with three.

Jaden Jones was the winning pitcher going seven innings with five strikeouts, seven hits, three runs, and no walks.

SPASH is the current leader in the Wisconsin Valley Conference with a 7-2 record in conference play and 14-5 overall. They are set to go on the road against DC Everest on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
