SPASH shuts out Wisconsin Rapids in six-inning victory

STEVENS POINT – SPASH earned a dominant 10-0 win over Wisconsin Rapids in six innings Thursday at Bukolt Park, improving to 5-4 on the season and 3-1 in Wisconsin Valley Conference play.

Junior Joe Schiszik (3-0) earned the win on the mound for the Panthers, tossing six shutout innings while allowing three hits, striking out three, and walking two. He did not allow an earned run.

SPASH scored twice in the third and broke the game open with a seven-run sixth inning to invoke the mercy rule.

Adam Nokowiak went 2-for-4 with a double, while Koy Karaliunas also finished 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Willie Washington went 2-for-3 and drove in three runs, and Brayden Marschke added a double.

SPASH finished with 11 hits and committed two errors. Wisconsin Rapids recorded three hits and two errors in the loss.

The Panthers next face Holmen and Eau Claire Memorial on Saturday, April 26, at Holmen Middle School. The first game begins at 11 a.m.
