SPASH shuts out Mosinee 3-0

SPASH baseball shut down Mosinee on Monday with senior pitcher JD Schultz back on the mound.

After being sidelined for a month with an ankle injury, Schultz pitched a gem going five innings with no runs on one hit and five strikeouts. His return attracted a Kansas City Royals scout to observe his pitching at Bukolt Park, where the Panthers bested their opponent 3-0.

Jack Kelly brought in the first run of the game in the first inning with a hard ground ball to center to bring Brett Ehr across the plate. The second inning brought in an additional two runs with a single by Brady Franz and double by Ehr.

Dylan Davis pitched in relief to seal the win going two innings with no runs on two hits and two strikeouts.

SPASH will travel to Wausau West for a conference matchup on Tuesday with first pitch at 5 p.m.
