SPASH girls golf places fifth at Marshfield leg of Valley series

MARSHFIELD – The Stevens Point Area Senior High girls golf team finished fifth in the second leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Tournament Series on Friday at Marshfield Country Club.
The Panthers posted a team score of 211 in the 9-hole, individual stroke play event. Jenna Barber led SPASH with a 49, followed by Karlie Kostuchowski at 52, Alexis Wagner with 54, and Vanessa Hatfield and Sydney Pfannes, who each carded 56.
On the junior varsity side, SPASH finished second as a team with a score of 219. Maddie Anderson paced JV with a 52, while Katelyn Pagel and Lydia Kort each shot 55. Mae Helgeson carded a 57 and Holly Hammon shot 59.
Team standings placed Wisconsin Rapids on top at 191, followed by Wausau at 195, D.C. Everest at 200, Marshfield at 201, SPASH at 211, and Adams-Friendship at 225.
