SPASH downs Wisconsin Rapids in five innings

It was an exciting game for SPASH softball fans at Woyak Park on Tuesday.

Panthers dominated Wisconsin Rapids with a 10-0 five-inning win for a sectional quarterfinal game. The win advances SPASH to the sectional final game against Chippewa Falls at DC Everest on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

The Panthers started out their first inning on offense with four runs to set the tone. Catcher Sam Saloun hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning and SPASH went on to score an additional three runs in the fifth inning to seal win.

Junior Jaden Jones pitched a gem going five innings with no runs on two hits and four strikeouts.

SPASH tallied ten hits in the game with Saloun and Jenna Eilers leading the team with two hits apiece. Saloun led in RBIs with three.
