SPASH defeats Wausau West to secure WVC title

SPASH defeated Wausau West 7-2 for a senior night game at Memorial Park in Plover Thursday.

The win sealed the WVC title outright for the Panthers after only one conference loss to Marshfield.

Wausau West was ahead until the bottom of the fourth inning when SPASH pulled away scoring three runs and held the Warriors to no runs for the remainder of the game.

Jack Kelly, Austin Beyer, Dayne Hoyard, and Tristain Aldrich all had multiple hits during the game. Beyer and Vinnie Fonti lead in RBIs with two each.

Logan Schulfer was the winning pitcher going five innings with two runs on two hits, eight strikeouts, and three walks. Senior Dylan Davis pitched in relief going two innings with no runs on three hits, two strikeouts, and one walk.

SPASH is set to travel to Ripon College Friday for a doubleheader against Hamilton-Sussex with first pitch at 4 p.m.
