SPASH boys swim team takes third at Ashwaubenon meet

ASHWAUBENON — The SPASH boys swim team placed third Saturday at a multi-team meet at the Ashwaubenon Community Pool, competing against 15 teams from central and eastern Wisconsin.
Bay Port captured the team title, while the Appleton West co-op finished second.
SPASH’s top individual finish came from junior Tony Raczek, who placed second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.99. Raczek also finished sixth in the 200 freestyle (1:51.96).
Senior Jacob Faust added two top-eight finishes, taking fifth in the 200 individual medley (2:05.77) and seventh in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.51).
In relay events, the SPASH 200 medley relay team of junior Noah Quisler, Faust, Raczek and senior Henry Bowling placed sixth with a time of 1:46.89. The 400 freestyle relay team of Raczek, Quisler, Bowling and Faust finished fifth in 3:25.92.
SPASH returns to action Tuesday, hosting the Eau Claire Alliance at the SPASH pool. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
