STEVENS POINT – The Stevens Point Area Senior High (SPASH) boys swim team secured a decisive 135-28 victory over Wausau East in a conference dual meet Thursday night.
SPASH freshman Felipe Rodriguez Giantomasi celebrated a career milestone, earning his first high school varsity wins in the 50-yard freestyle (25.67) and the 500-yard freestyle (6:15.88). Giantomasi’s performances highlighted a dominant evening for the Panthers.
Sophomore Tony Raczek took first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:56.80, while senior Joey Kozicki claimed victory in the 200-yard individual medley, clocking in at 2:23.61. Other standout individual wins came from senior Gavin Stelzer in the 100-yard butterfly (1:04.67), junior Mason Soik in the 100-yard freestyle (55.99), sophomore Noah Quisler in the 100-yard backstroke (1:05.75), and freshman Karl Eriksson in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.50).
The Panthers also excelled in relay events, with the team of Raczek, Soik, Stelzer, and Jacob Faust winning the 200-yard medley relay in 1:48.14, and the quartet of Soik, Faust, Landon Bicknase, and Raczek clinching the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:37.37.
SPASH will return to competition on Tuesday night with a non-conference dual meet against Eau Claire Alliance, rescheduled due to last week’s weather-related cancellation.
