SPASH boys soccer ties Menomonie in nonconference match

MENOMONIE – The SPASH boys soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw Thursday night in a nonconference matchup at Menomonie.

Senior Sivan Dinga scored in the second half for the Panthers, assisted by Zachariah Zillman. Goalkeeper Fred Juliani recorded one save as SPASH outshot Menomonie 18-2.

“I thought we played very well—even better than we did on Tuesday when we won,” head coach Bill Loss said. “We moved the ball really well and created numerous scoring opportunities. Unfortunately, we struggled to have quality moments when we needed them to put the ball in the net, and we gave up one opportunity, and they converted. But that’s the game sometimes, and we’ll learn from this experience and be better as a result.”

The Panthers are now 1-0-1 on the season. They return to action Tuesday with a Wisconsin Valley Conference game at D.C. Everest. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
