CENTRAL WISCONSIN– After a scoreless first half, the Stevens Point Area Senior High boys soccer team exploded after halftime to earn a 5-2 Wisconsin Valley Conference win over Wausau East on Thursday.
Sivan Dinga led the Panthers with four goals and an assist in his return from injury. Zachariah Zillman added a goal and two assists. Tyler Falkavage and Leytin Stevens also chipped in with one assist each.
SPASH outshot the Lumberjacks 11-6, with goalkeeper Fred Juliani making four saves.
“What a second half we had as a team,” head coach Bill Loss said. “The boys made the adjustments we identified at halftime and took control of the game. I am very proud of their effort and happy for Sivan in his first game back after missing all last week due to injury. He was hungry for sure.”
The victory improved SPASH to 2-1-3 in the Valley and 5-2-5 overall. The Panthers will travel to Wausau West next Tuesday.
