NOTICE TO ALL METRO WIRE READERS:

Thanksgiving 2024 will be here before you know it. Seems like it’s pretty early this year.

Before you do anything else today, print out what I’m about to show you.

You WILL want to keep this.

You are about to see Shoe’s famous turkey dressing/stuffing recipe.

It’s the best ever. Fifty people have tried it in the past, and 50 people absolutely loved it.

Not 30 people. Or 40 people.

50 people loved it.

Without further ado, here’s what you’ll need:

  • One tube of Jimmy Dean sausage.
  • 1/2 cup onion.
  • 1 cup celery.
  • One lb. of bread in a bag. You’ll find it in the deli. It’s a bag of pieces of bread.
  • Two eggs.
  • One teaspoon each of sage, marjoram, and thyme.
  • One 3 lb. container of Swanson chicken broth (very important).

Okay. If you got all of that stuff, you are now ready to begin a start of a great feast.

  1. Brown your sausage in a frying pan. Then put it aside.
  2. Put your eggs into a big bowl. I said a BIG bowl. Pay attention. (Throw away the eggshells. They won’t be needed.)
  3. Stir your eggs with a spoon or something.
  4. Break up all that breading that’s in the bag. Use your hands or a spoon. I don’t really care what you use. Just break it all up.
  5. Put all of that broken-up breading into your big bowl.
  6. Take a short break. You deserve it.
  7. You are almost halfway done!
  8. Put in your chopped celery and chopped onion. Stir everything together.
  9. Add a teaspoon each of the sage, marjoram, and thyme. It’ll give it more flavor.
  10. You’re almost done. Now for a very important step: Pour into the big bowl the 3 lb. container of Swanson chicken broth. You want the dressing/stuffing to be moist. Stir.
  11. Now then, remember that Jimmy Dean sausage you browned? Put it all in the bowl. That big bowl.

Congrats!!! You’re done!!!

I usually put the made-dressing into a couple of smaller bowls. Then cover your dressing bowl with tinfoil and put it in the oven.

Bake it at 350° for at least 35 minutes. Then taste it. Might have to bake a little bit longer.

Clean your big bowl and spoons. A clean kitchen is a happy kitchen.

I always like to put a lot of this stuffing into the turkey. You don’t have to if you don’t wanna. It’s your call.

Once the dressing/stuffing is baked, it’s ready to eat. I also like to pour McCormick’s turkey gravy on it.

If you follow these simple steps, you should end up with some awesome dressing!

If it isn’t awesome, you must’ve screwed up.

But I think you’ll have a winner.

Enjoy!
