Shirley Jean White, age 91, passed away at her home on Wednesday, June 30, 2021.
Private family services for Shirley will be held at a later date.
Shirley was born on August 4, 1929, in Tuscola, Ill., the daughter of Henry and Pearlie (Webb) Harre. On February 4, 1950, Shirley married James Lee White. They were married for 60 years when he passed away in 2010.
In her younger days, Shirley enjoyed square dancing and camping with family and friends. She and her husband eventually bought a home on North Turtle Lake where they continued to entertain friends and family, especially their grandsons. Many good memories were made at the lake!
Her love of baking kept the cookie jar full no matter when you stepped in. She loved the challenge of a good crossword and her love of birds and wildlife meant the feeders were always full thanks to her grandson.
Summer was her favorite season and you could find her outside planting and tending her flowers. It also meant the Brewers were playing and she never missed an inning. She enjoyed the rivalry with her sister who is a Cardinal fan!
Shirley enjoyed a full life and will be missed by all.
Shirley is survived by her son: James W. (Michele) White, Stevens Point; two grandsons: Joshua J and Jason R. White, Stevens Point; and three great-grandsons: Ayden J., Ayric D., and Alexander C. White, all of Stevens Point; sister: Beulah (Clyde) Smith, House Springs, MO; and sister-in-law: Mary Harre, Quincy, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, brothers and sisters: Letious, Freda, Eugene, and Farrell.
