Sheriff’s office offers hunter safety course

The Portage County Sheriff’s Office will hold a Hunter Safety Course beginning September 30.

Classes will be on Monday, Sept. 30, Tuesday, Oct. 1, Thursday, Oct. 3, and Monday, Oct. 7, from 4-7 p.m. Classes will be held in the Training Room at the Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office, 1500 Strongs Ave. in Stevens Point.

A field day will be held Oct. 5 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the Dewey Shooting Range on Willow Springs Dr., located about six miles north of Stevens Point.

The course is designed for students 11 years and older and costs $10.
