Sex offender scheduled for release this week

Stevens Point police say a convicted sex offender will live in the city following a scheduled release from prison this week.

Lawrence R. Keehn, 56, is scheduled to be released on Sept. 29 after serving a prison term for three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault in 1983; three counts of child enticement in 1998; and a conviction of possession with intent to deliver synthetic cannabinoids, a second-offense of operating while under the influence, and a sex registry violation.

Keehn will live at 1504 Water St. in Stevens Point and will be placed under the supervision of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, and monitored by Sex Offender Agent Specialists with the Division of Community Corrections, in Portage Co. He is also is subject to lifetime GPS monitoring.

Under the conditions of his release, Keehn is prohibited from having unsupervised contact with minors or consuming drugs. He is required to comply with standard sex offender rules and to cooperate with electronic monitoring, including complying with all requirements and lifetime registrant of the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry.
