Metro Wire Staff

Stevens Point police say a convicted sex offender is being released back into the community in early April.

Antonio Saenz, 55, is being released from prison on April 4 and will live at 1504 Water St. in Stevens Point.

Saenz is a white man, bald with brown yes. He is 5’6″ and weighs about 159 pounds.

Saenz was convicted by a jury in 2017 on two counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child, two counts of exposing genitals to a child, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a child, and two counts of exposing a child to harmful descriptions.

He was sentenced by Judge Robert Shannon to seven years in prison and seven years of extended supervision.

According to court documents, Saenz sexually touched, kissed, and masturbated in front of his victims, which included minor female acquaintances and strangers. He also made references about engaging in sexual contact, including oral and vaginal intercourse to the victims over Facebook.

Saenz has numerous prior cases of masturbating in public in front of females, according to court records.

Saenz will be living in a halfway house at 1504 Water St. in Stevens Point. He will be under the supervision with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and monitored by the Sex Offender Registry Program with the Division of Community Corrections in Portage County. He is also subject to a lifetime GPS monitoring.

Saenz has additional conditions to have no unsupervised contact with minors; no contact with the victim; not to consume drugs. He is required to comply with all sex offender rules, cooperate with electronic monitoring, and must have regular face-to-face contact with law enforcement required.

“Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but it was not until the Sex Offender Registration
and Community Notification Law was enacted that law enforcement was able to share this information
with the community,” a news release from SPPD reads. “Abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders with not be tolerated.”
