MADISON — The Wisconsin State Capitol buzzed with activity Monday as lawmakers were sworn in for the 107th session of the Wisconsin State Legislature.
Among them, Sen. Patrick Testin, R-Stevens Point, began his third term representing the 24th Senate District, pledging to focus on key issues for Central Wisconsin residents.
“It is an absolute honor and privilege that the voters of the 24th Senate District continue to put their trust in me to advocate for their priorities down in Madison,” Testin said.
Testin outlined a legislative agenda centered on tax reduction, expanding healthcare access in rural areas, strengthening the agriculture sector, supporting military veterans, and bolstering the workforce.
In the upcoming 2025-26 legislative session, Testin will play a central role in shaping the state’s biennial budget as vice-chair of the Joint Finance Committee. He will also serve as chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Revenue and vice-chair of the Senate Committee on Health.
Additionally, Testin will co-chair the Joint Survey Committee on Tax Exemptions and serve as a member of the Senate Committee on Financial Institutions and Sporting Heritage and the Joint Committee on Information Policy and Technology.
Testin, who was first elected president pro tempore of the Wisconsin State Senate in 2020, will continue in the leadership role after being re-elected by his colleagues.
The 24th Senate District includes parts of Portage, Wood, Adams, Waushara, and Monroe counties.
