School closures forces change in library services next week

The downtown branch of the Portage Co. Library will be open for curbside service only next week.

Larry Oathout, library director for the downtown branch, said with the closure of public schools next week, combined with some staff members out due to illness, the library is short-staffed.

As a result, the library, 1001 Main St., will offer curbside service from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Oathout said branch libraries in Plover, Rosholt, and Almond, will function as normal next week.
