Thousands are expected for two of this weekend’s main events: the annual Mark Toyota Safety Fair and the Portage County Cultural Festival.

Both events are being held on May 12.

Spearheaded by the Plover Fire Dept., the safety fair is organized annually by all local emergency agencies in conjunction with Mark Toyota, 1765 Park Ave. in Plover.

This year’s event includes child fingerprinting by the Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office, face painting, rescue tool demonstration, fire safety house, boat simulator and hands-only CPR training.

Plover police will be on hand with their K-9 vehicle and officer, Bill. Stevens Point police will also make a special appearance with their new K-9 dogs, Luna and Fala, at about 10 a.m.
