Metro Wire Staff

The Rudolph Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, June 15.

The blood drive is being sponsored by the American Red Cross from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Multiple donation spots are still available.

Individuals can still donate blood if they’ve received the COVID-19 vaccine. There is no deferral time for eligible blood donors who are vaccinated with a non-replicating inactivated or RNA-based COVID-19 vaccine manufactured by AstraZeneca, Janssen/J&J, Moderna, Novavax, or Pfizer.

Eligible blood donors who received a live attenuated COVID-19 vaccine or do not know what type of COVID-19 vaccine they received must wait two weeks before giving blood.

Donors must be at least 17 years old, at least 110 pounds, and in good health. Donors who are 16 may also donate with parental permission.

Appointments can be made via the American Red Cross Blood Donor app or online at  www.redcrossblood.org
